San Francisco area jolted by earthquake

BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA - A light earthquake jolted the San Francisco Bay area Friday, breaking glass and jarring nerves, but no injuries were reported.
The 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:40 a.m. about 2 miles east of Oakland, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor was felt on both sides of the San Francisco Bay and lasted up to 10 seconds.
